Services Offered
At Ability Explorers we offer Developmental Education services to help each individual explore their strengths and interests and utilise them to foster growth.
We aim to assist individuals and their support networks through:
- Personalised goal setting and programming
- Capacity/Skill building using evidence-based practice and programming to develop social, emotional, and daily living skills.
- Emotional regulation
- Executive functioning and organisational skills.
- Hygiene and self-care
- Money management
- Assisting individuals to develop their learning abilities.
- Positive behavioural support
- Social-emotional skill building.
- Assessment
- Sensory awareness and strategies.
- Developing communication skills.
- Designing visual supports.
- Transport training.
- Planning for transitions and stages of life (i.e. day-to-day transitions, getting ready for primary school, high school, tertiary study, work).
- Advocacy (e.g. NDIS, school or work related).
- Assisting individuals and their families through guidance to access resources to support them (e.g. NDIS).
- Parent/Carer upskilling to support individual and their disabilities.
- Support and assessment to gain access and maintain employment
NDIS clients can be billed under the following line items:
- 5_056_0128_1_3 Assessment Recommendation Therapy or Training
- 10_016_0102_5_3 Assistance to access and maintain employment or higher education
- 04_210_0125_6_1 Participation in community, social and civic activities
- 09_006_0106_6_3 Assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transition and supports

- 15_005_0118_1_3 Early Intervention Supports for Early Childhood

Services for school professionals:
- Assisting educational professionals to develop and implement environmental adjustments to meet student needs.
- Professional development to enhance knowledge regarding disability and supports that can be implemented in the school setting to support student learning, accommodate for student needs, and foster inclusion.
- Assisting parents and carers to develop their knowledge of disability, strategies to assist their children at home and in community settings, and how to access and understand support systems (e.g. NDIS, Carer Gateway).
How are the services offered
Ability Explorers understands that therapy works best in an environment where you feel most comfortable. We offer a mobile service where we can visit the individual in their home environment, at school or in another community setting. Ability Explorers also offers teletherapy sessions.
